Library and Research Support

Welcome to the Library and Research Support resource page at Arrupe College where you’ll find support services and resources for doing research and using the library. The library supports students in doing research and helps accessing the millions of books, articles, videos, and digital resources that we have, as well as sources available online and at other institutions. Whether you’re new to Loyola, new to college, or just new to using an academic library, we’re here to help you succeed. The University Libraries provides everything you need for your coursework and research. You don’t have to figure it out alone! Arrupe has its own dedicated library liaison to connect you with all that the library has to offer.

What we do

Research Support

During one-on-one or group research consultations, students work with the Arrupe Librarian on areas such as choosing and scoping a research topic, evaluating sources, research strategies, finding sources through library databases and online, citing sources, and more.

Course Reserves

Course reserves are materials set aside for a class. These might include textbooks, articles, or other required readings that students can borrow for short periods or access electronically. Lewis Library has course reserves available to check out for 4 hours or 3 days at a time.

Libby

Libby is an e-book and audiobook app that students can download or use for free on a desktop. Libby supports students and courses, as well as leisure fiction and nonfiction. There is a large collection of literature with an emphasis on contemporary authors as well as collections on family, relationships, health, life after military, self-improvement, history and succeeding in college.
